Named scholarships & funds
When it comes to earning a college degree, the greatest obstacle can be funding.
For this reason, The University of Akron is pleased for the opportunity each year to assist talented, deserving students achieve their dreams, thanks to more than 1,300 named scholarships established through the kindness and generosity of thousands of °µºÚ±¬ÁÏ alumni and friends, corporations, and foundations.
Scholarships truly are the best way to ensure that today’s students persist to graduation. Scholarships allow students to enroll full time and remain focused on their studies; they also reduce drop-out rates, decrease the stress of student loans, and shorten the road to graduation.
If you are interested in making a significant contribution to student success, please consider a gift to scholarships. You may also establish a named scholarship at The University of Akron, which can be created to honor a living person, in memory of a loved one, or to contribute to the growth of an area of study.

Reymann, Stephen C. Men's Soccer Endowment
The Stephen C. Reymann Men's Soccer Endowment was created in the fall of 2023 by Stephen C. Reymann. This fund is designed for the benefit of the men's soccer program at The University of Akron (°µºÚ±¬ÁÏ).
A 1972 graduate of The University of Akron College of Business with an industrial management degree, Steve Reymann was a member of the men's soccer team from 1967-1971. Steve chose to support the men's soccer team because of his deep appreciation for Akron Athletics, to honor the excellence of the soccer program, and to signify the team's importance to the University and the community. The fund's goal is to provide resources that help sustain the men's soccer program's excellence and to honor those who came before him that laid the foundations on which the program was built.
This gift will be included in We Rise Together, the Campaign for The University of Akron. The Stephen C. Reymann Men's Soccer Endowment will "Lift Our People" by providing funds to ensure the best and brightest student-athletes attend °µºÚ±¬ÁÏ to be educated, enlightened, and transformed so they go on to lead lives of purpose and significance.
