Cleveland Intellectual Property Law Association Scholarship
The Cleveland Intellectual Property Law Association (CIPLA) established The Cleveland Intellectual Property Law Association Scholarship in March 2018, to provide scholarship assistance to The University of Akron School of Law students studying intellectual property law. Membership in CIPLA is open to attorneys practicing in the area of intellectual property law, patent agents, and law students interested in intellectual property law.
Cleveland Intellectual Property Law Association Scholarship will be awarded to one or more students enrolled at The University of Akron School of Law, who are studying intellectual property law. The recipient should be enrolled, or planning to enroll, in the Intellectual Property Certificate Program; or otherwise intend to take significant intellectual property coursework at The University of Akron.
The recipient must submit a written statement (150 to 500 words) about their involvement in intellectual property law through classwork, extracurricular activities or legal work, such as internships and clerkships. The statement may be made retroactively, prior to, or contemporaneously with receiving the scholarship. The CIPLA organization reserves the right to recite or publish the statement at its meetings or on its various social media platforms.
The scholarship will be awarded annually, as funds are available, by The University of Akron School of Law’s Scholarship Committee.
The scholarship recipient should make every effort to attend CIPLA’s spring meeting, which usually takes place in May.
