Biomedical Engineering Undergraduate Scholarship

The Biomedical Engineering Undergraduate Scholarship, established in March 2024 through the joint efforts of the Biomedical Engineering Council, alumni, and friends, serves as a testament to their unwavering commitment to advancing the field of biomedical engineering through education and empowerment. This scholarship has been meticulously crafted to recognize and support undergraduate students who exhibit exemplary dedication to the discipline, academic excellence, and a passion for contributing to the ever-evolving landscape of healthcare and medical technology.

The Biomedical Engineering Undergraduate Scholarship, born out of the vision and dedication of the Biomedical Engineering Council, is more than a financial award. It symbolizes a shared commitment to nurturing the next generation of biomedical engineers who will drive innovation, solve complex challenges, and positively impact the world of healthcare. As scholarship recipients embark on their educational journeys, they become integral members of a community dedicated to pushing the boundaries of biomedical engineering, ultimately shaping a future where cutting-edge technologies enhance the well-being of individuals globally.

As part of the larger educational initiative, We Rise Together, the Campaign for The University of Akron, The Biomedical Engineering Undergraduate Scholarship signifies a collective effort to uplift and empower the academic community.

The purpose of The Biomedical Engineering Undergraduate Scholarship is to assist promising full-time undergraduate students pursuing a degree in biomedical engineering at The University of Akron. The scholarship will be awarded to students who maintain satisfactory academic progress and may be renewed for a maximum of eight semesters. Renewal of the scholarship is contingent upon the student's maintenance of good academic standing, continued pursuit of a biomedical engineering degree, and full-time enrollment.
