Gill Family Doctoral Scholarship
This endowed scholarship was established in 1999 by Kristine M. Gill and Richard A. Gill to recognize the efforts of The University of Akron School of Nursing Deans (Lillian J. DeYoung, E. Jane Martin, V. Ruth Gray, and Cynthia Flynn Capers) and countless faculty in establishing the Joint Ph.D. in Nursing with Kent State University.
Originally set to assist Ph.D. nursing students with the first scholarship awarded in 2000, the scholarship was revised in May 2020 to provide financial assistance to deserving doctoral nursing students in the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program who demonstrate financial need. Recipients will be selected by the School of Nursing Office of Student Success without regard to race, creed, color, sex or national origin.
