Rennie, Charles Norris Memorial Scholarship Fund
The Charles Norris Rennie Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in tribute to Mr. Rennie’s commitment to The University of Akron and to Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. Mr. Rennie graduated from the University in 1948 and was a member of the Ohio Epsilon Chapter of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. During his life, he continued an involvement with the University and his fraternity. The Charles Norris Rennie Memorial Scholarship recipients will be active members of any local or national University of Akron Greek society (fraternity or sorority) that is pledged alcohol-free and in good standing with the University and the society's national headquarters. Additionally, the recipient(s) of the scholarship will be in good standing at the University and the local society, hold a GPA of 3.0, and serve as an example of moral rectitude as defined by his or her local chapter.
Recipients of The Charles Norris Rennie Memorial Scholarship Fund will be selected by The University of Akron Scholarship Committee from recommendations provided by the Senior Student Affairs Officer in coordination with the Office of Greek Affairs. Scholarships will be awarded by the Scholarship Committee each year as the funds become available at no less than $500 for each scholarship.
