Akron Canton Mansfield Roofing and Sheet Metal Contractors Association Endowed Scholarship in Construction Engineering Technology

The Akron Canton Mansfield Roofing and Sheet Metal Contractors Association Endowed Scholarship in Construction Engineering Technology was established by the Roofers and Sheet Metal Contractors Association in April 1991 with a gift of $10,000. The scholarship criteria was revised in May 2019, and shall be available for future construction professionals who have an interest in having a positive influence in the construction industry.

To be considered eligible, applicants must be enrolled in at least the second year of a two- or four-year construction engineering technology or construction field operations degree at The University of Akron, and have an interest in working in the construction industry after graduation. Candidates shall have a minimum 2.5 cumulative grade point average and be a U.S. Citizen residing in Ohio. First consideration will be given to students who are children or stepchildren of Akron Area Construction Industry Association members.

Scholarship recipients will be selected by the Association from a list of qualified applicants provided by The University of Akron. The Department of Development will request applications from the Office of Student Financial Aid and the College of Applied Science and Technology. The Association may request letters of professional reference and/or a personal interview as part of their review process.
