Nettling, Henry Hank Endowed Scholarship in Accounting
The Henry “Hank” Nettling Endowed Scholarship in Accounting was created in 2002 through contributions from friends and relatives in honor of Henry “Hank” Nettling, vice president emeritus for business and finance upon his retirement after 38 years of dedicated service to The University of Akron; and upon being conferred the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Humane Letters in recognition of distinguished leadership and service to the University through the promotion of sound business and financial policies and practices. Hank is an alumnus of the University, receiving his BSBA in accounting in 1959.
The scholarship is awarded by the Accounting Department in the College of Business Administration, in collaboration with the Office of Student Financial Aid, to a full-time junior accounting student maintaining a 3.0-3.5 GPA. The recipient will receive half of the award in the fall term and the remaining half in the spring term. The student must have financial need, yet not be eligible for grant assistance from state or federal need-based programs. The scholarship can be awarded through the recipient’s senior year if applicable. Memorial contributions are welcome.
