Musson, R.C. and Katharine M. Musson Charitable Foundation Scholarship for Veterans

The R.C. Musson and Katharine M. Musson Charitable Foundation Scholarship for Veterans was established in 2014 by The R.C. Musson and Katharine M. Musson Charitable Foundation for the purpose of providing funds to veterans who have exhausted all other G.I. benefits.

The R.C. Musson and Katharine M. Musson Charitable Foundation was established in 1987 by Robert C. Musson and his wife, Katharine. Mr. Musson was the grandson of Harriett Buchtel Musson, sister of University of Akron founder John R. Buchtel. The Musson Foundation has supported numerous important initiatives at The University of Akron since 1989, including the establishment of The Musson Veterans Lounge and The Robert C. Musson Eminent Scholar Chair in Polymer Science, as well as scholarships in the College of Business Administration and the College of Nursing (now the School of Nursing). The Foundation also has supported projects in Business Administration, Nursing, E.J. Thomas Performing Arts Hall, and the former College of Fine and Applied Arts.

The R.C. Musson and Katharine M. Musson Charitable Foundation Scholarship for Veterans was established to support full-time undergraduate and graduate veterans and currently serving military members at The University of Akron who have exhausted all other G.I. benefits. Requirements include full-time status and a minimum GPA of 2.5 for undergraduate students and 3.0 for graduate students.
