Sanctuary Software Studio, Inc. Award

The Sanctuary Software Studio, Inc. Award offers support for tuition and fees to exceptional students pursuing an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering or computer science.

Sanctuary Software Studio, Inc. is a professional services firm specializing in software development and digital media production. The multi-disciplinary team works with scientific and engineering enterprises to reach new markets, modernize product offerings, and transform business models. Sanctuary Software Studio, Inc. was established in 1994 and is located in Akron, Ohio. Co-founder and president, Michael Terry, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering with a minor in computer science from The University of Akron in 1991.

The Sanctuary Software Studio, Inc. Award is to be awarded to incoming freshmen students pursuing a degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering or computer science.

Sanctuary Software will interview candidates and offer a paid internship during the summer before their freshmen year begins. The award will be applied to the selected recipient’s University of Akron student account after completing a full summer internship with Sanctuary Software. Students who continue summer internships or co-op rotations at Sanctuary Software will be eligible for renewal of this award throughout their college career.

The Office of Student Financial Aid will provide applications to the Department of Development, who will then present to Sanctuary Software for review. Sanctuary Software will arrange interviews and determine how many students will receive an internship and award opportunity.
