White, Reginald Memorial Scholarship
The Reginald White Memorial Scholarship was established in 1978 by the Alpha Tau chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., as a loving tribute to the memory of Brother Reginald White, whose life was tragically lost during a cave exploration in West Virginia. The scholarship fund was revised in 2017.
Two incoming freshmen are to be selected annually by Alpha Tau chapter committee members as Reginald White Scholars without restriction as to race, color, creed, sex or national origin. Academic achievement, financial need, personality and commitment to individual improvement are to be considered in the selection of recipients. This scholarship is open to full-time or part-time University of Akron students who are taking at least six (6) credit hours or more.
