Summit County Safety Council Scholarship
The Summit County Safety Council Scholarship was created in 2003. This award will be provided annually to a student in the Community and Technical College who is pursuing a degree in an environmental/safety related field including but not limited to Emergency Management, Fire Prevention/Protection, or Security/Investigation. Additionally the student must be a junior or senior at the time of the award with a GPA of at least 3.0.
Three candidates shall be recommended to the Safety Council by The University of Akron Community and Technical College faculty in conjunction with Financial Aid. The recipient will be selected after all candidates are interviewed by the Summit County Safety Council Board.
The Summit County Safety Council was established in 1949. The mission of the Council is to promote safety and prevent accidents in the workplace. Members are business professionals in the Summit County area.
