Buckmaster, Leland Stanford Scholarship
The endowed Leland Stanford Buckmaster Scholarship was established by friends and relatives of the late Leland Stanford Buckmaster, a member of the Board of Directors of The University of Akron from 1957 to 1962. It is supported, in large measure, by contributions from the American Federation of Labor Congress of Industrial Organizations, of which he was vice president. It is also supported by many unions affiliated with the United Rubber Workers, of which he was international president. The income is used to assist worthy students selected by the University Scholarship Committee.
