Bozzelli, Madeline Scholarship
The Madeline Bozzelli Scholarship will be awarded annually to a student who is majoring in marketing, public relations, or one of the fine arts—music, dance, theatre or art. The scholarship was established in 1999 by Libert Bozzelli to recognize his wife’s lifelong community involvement and her interest in education. Because of their volunteerism, the Bozzellis wish to encourage University of Akron students to become involved in their University and community. The annual scholarship will be given to a full-time undergraduate student, regardless of need, with a minimum GPA of 2.5. Recipients must have demonstrated involvement in University organizations and in their community. The University’s Scholarship Committee will select the recipient in cooperation with the dean of the College of Business Administration and the dean of the College of Fine and Applied Arts.
Madeline, who was named an honorary alumna in 1990, has served a multitude of civic organizations, including the following board memberships: Akron Symphony Orchestra, United Way, Friends of Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Cuyahoga Falls General Hospital Community Board, St. Thomas Hospital Women’s Board, Summit County Democratic Party, International Institute, Ohio Ballet Board and Women’s Board, American Heart Association, Project Learn, Soapbox Derby, Ohio Erie Canal, Family Services, The Blind Center, and The American Cancer Society. She also has volunteered for Inventure Place. Madeline has been credited for helping raise millions of dollars in her 30 years as a volunteer. Madeline and Libert have four grown children and live in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.
