Little, Robert W. Endowed Scholarship
The Robert W. Little Endowed Scholarship (formerly The Robert W. Little Endowed Scholarship Fund for Summit College) was established to meet the needs of students who were enrolled in The University of Akron's Summit College, which served students who were interested in specific career opportunities and a desire to enter the workforce as quickly as possible. In 2024, the scholarship underwent a revision to align with the reorganization of programs of study initially provided by Summit College. These programs are currently available within the College of Engineering and Polymer Science or the College of Health and Human Sciences. Many of these non-traditional students have financial needs which may impede their future success at the University, and The Robert W. Little Endowed Scholarship hopes to assist these students.
Eligible recipients of The Robert W. Little Endowed Scholarship must:
- Be pursuing a degree in either the College of Engineering and Polymer Science or the College of Health and Human Sciences,
- Be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours,
- Have a 3.0 minimum cumulative grade point average, and
- Have financial need.
Recipients of The Robert W. Little Endowed Scholarship shall be selected by the University Scholarship Committee in the Office of Student Financial Aid. The number of scholarships and their respective amounts will be evenly disbursed between the College of Engineering and Polymer Science and the College of Health and Human Sciences.
