Materials Performance Projects Resources Fund

The University of Akron Materials Performance Projects Resources Fund supports student participation in meaningful activities beyond the traditional academic classroom.  These activities are important components of the Corrosion and Engineering Technology program, and complement the Associate of Applied Science in Corrosion Engineering Technology degree.

The funding supports the student activities and mission of the Corrosion and Engineering Technology program at The University of Akron, Akron, Ohio.

Funding will specifically be used for students in Corrosion and Engineering Technology in the Department of Engineering and Science Technology; affiliated students in the Department of Engineering and Science Technology; and members of the Corrosion Squad.

  • Affiliated students are those working on projects with students in Corrosion and Engineering Technology.
  • The Corrosion Squad is a multi-disciplinary student group strengthening the academic and professional development of its members through interaction with academia and industry.

Expenditures will expand students’ learning experiences and professional development.

  • Funding examples include student research and technology projects, interaction with industry professionals, industry site visits, competitions, conferences, and other activities that enhance the students’ opportunities beyond their academic classes and internships.
  • Student team research and technology projects are desirable.

The Corrosion and Engineering Technology (CorEngTech) Program Director will determine expenditures for use as described in this document; or, absent a program director, the Department Chair, as directed by the Dean of the College of Applied Science and Technology.
