Litchfield, Paul W. Scholarship Fund

The Paul W. Litchfield Scholarship Fund was established by the Paul W. Litchfield Awards Association in recognition of the leadership by Mr. Litchfield of The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. Mr. Litchfield was an honorary alumnus of The University of Akron. Mr. Litchfield served Goodyear from 1900 and was chairman of the company from 1940 to 1956. During Mr. Litchfield’s tenure, Goodyear was recognized as the leading tire company in the world. The basic purpose of The Paul W. Litchfield Scholarship Fund is to further the loyalty and cooperation of Goodyear employees through the education assistance extended to their children.
