Domestic Admissions
Students are admitted to The University of Akron Graduate School for graduate study in any program by the Dean of the Graduate School based on the recommendation of the department in which the applicant wishes to pursue study. Students must follow standard procedures for admission to the Graduate School. Online application for admission to the Graduate School should be made at least six weeks before the start of the term for which admission is sought in order to allow adequate time for complete processing. Every person who desires to enroll in, or audit, any graduate course must be first admitted or approved by the Graduate School.

Documents submitted to the Graduate School becomes the permanent property of The University of Akron. Please be advised that the Graduate School converts all documentation into an electronic document. After the document is converted into an electronic file, the hard copied document is destroyed. As a result, the Graduate School is not able to provide and/or return original documentation to any applicant.
